What is recycled packaging?

Recycled packaging is packaging designed to be used multiple times for the same purpose and is often included in a return system.

Who is covered by the manufacturer responsibility of recycled packaging

All companies that market or import recycled packaging in Denmark are covered by producer responsibility - regardless of the size of the company or industry.

Producers

Companies that manufacture recycled packaging and put it on the Danish market are covered by producer responsibility. For example, this applies to a Danish company that produces euro pallets.

Importers

Importers who bring recycled packaging to Denmark from abroad are responsible for the packaging they put on the market. For example, it could be a company that imports reusable cups for use at events.

Distributors

Distributors who sell recycled packaging under their own name or trademark are considered manufacturers within the meaning of the legislation. An example is a wholesaler that markets europallets with its own branding to Danish customers.
