Battery types
The rules split batteries into five categories. Your volumes are reported by category, and eco-modulation follows category and chemistry together.
Five categories, from button cell to electric car
The environmental contribution depends on the category and the eco-modulation of the battery. You supply the volumes per category, and we report on to DPA on your behalf.
Below you can see the categories and what they cover. If you are unsure where your batteries belong, just ask us. It is quickly sorted out.
Size and use decide the category, from the portable one to the traction battery in an electric car.

| Portable batteries | The everyday ones for households and electronics, from AA cells and button cells to power banks. |
| Light means of transport (LMT) | Batteries for e-bikes, scooters and similar light vehicles. |
| Industrial batteries | For industrial equipment, energy storage and professional use. |
| Starter batteries (SLI) | Starting, lighting and ignition in cars and machinery. |
| Electric vehicle batteries (EV) | Traction batteries in electric and hybrid cars. |
