The easier your products are to recycle, the lower the rate.
This is called eco-modulation. Products that are easy to recycle pay the green rate, the difficult ones pay a higher red rate. Reusable packaging is not modulated at all. How eco-modulation works

There is no environmental contribution per kg on reusable packaging. You pay the membership, plus a supplement of DKK 999 per year if you have to report in detail (required from 8,000 kg, optional below). On top of that come the fees to DPA and the Danish Energy Agency based on your volume, and the treatment of the reusable packaging you take back yourselves. Below 8,000 kg per year one combined weight split between household and business is enough.

Single-use plastic pays a clean-up fee instead of an environmental contribution. The price depends on your specific products and volumes, so there is no fixed rate table. Book a call and we will work it out for you.

For fishing gear we do not charge an environmental contribution. You pay the membership, and you file the annual report to DPA yourselves. We remind you of the deadline and collect the fees from the authorities together, so you do not get separate invoices. Book a call and we will work through your total costs.

How the calculator works
The calculator multiplies your amount by the rate for each material or category and adds it all up. There are no hidden steps.
An example. 4,000 kg cardboard, 2,000 kg plastic and 1,000 kg glass for household, green rate, gives 4,000 × 1.60 DKK + 2,000 × 3.79 DKK + 1,000 × 2.39 DKK. That is 16,370 DKK per year.
Below 8,000 kg of packaging per year you can report one combined amount at the combined rate. From 8,000 kg you split the amounts per material, and each material pays its own rate. The same applies to reusable packaging.
