Material categories
When you report packaging, you split your volumes across fixed material categories. The category decides whether and how your contribution is eco-modulated.
Below 8 tonnes per year: one combined weight
From 8 tonnes: split across materials
How you split your volumes
The four plastic types (flexible plastic, rigid plastic, foamed plastic and rigid PET) are reported together as plastic. If something does not fit a category, it belongs under Other.
Below 8 tonnes per year you can make do with the total weight split between household and business. From 8 tonnes you split the volume across the individual materials, and there eco-modulation applies to the contribution.
The categories, and how they are eco-modulated
The materials fall into three groups. The easier the packaging is to recycle, the lower the contribution. Plastic and cartons are eco-modulated in three levels, glass, cardboard, paper and metals in two, and the rest pay the base rate.
Three levels
Two levels
No eco-modulation
