What you pay, and to whom

The price of extended producer responsibility for vehicles consists of a registration fee and an annual operating fee to DPA (Dansk Producentansvar), plus membership and the environmental contribution with your PRO.

Vehicles stand out because everything is counted per vehicle instead of per kilo. The DPA operating fee is per vehicle, and the environmental contribution is a fixed price per vehicle. Below we go through the payments one at a time.

Registration with DPA

All producers must be registered in the Danish producer register (Producentregistret, at DPA) before the vehicles are made available on the Danish market. DPA (Dansk Producentansvar) runs the register where your company is registered and where your numbers are reported.

The registration fee is paid once and goes directly to DPA. You pay DKK 1,000 to register including your first product area, and DKK 500 for each further area. We help you all the way through pre-registration, including the fiddly MitID approval.

The annual operating fee from DPA is calculated per vehicle you reported for the previous year. For few vehicles you pay the minimum fee of DKK 250 per year.

Membership and environmental contribution with us

Membership with us costs from DKK 795 per year per product area.

The environmental contribution for vehicles is DKK 300 per vehicle. If you make vehicles available on the market in red eco-modulation, 20% is added, so the contribution is DKK 360 per vehicle.

Both the membership and the environmental contribution are Emballage Indberetning own prices. Every PRO sets its own rates, so that is where the prices vary.

As a member you report your numbers to us. We report on to DPA on your behalf and invoice all fees together.

Questions about the prices for vehicles

You pay DKK 1,000 to register with DPA (DKK 500 if vehicles are not your first product area), an annual DPA operating fee per vehicle, membership from DKK 795 per year, and an environmental contribution of DKK 300 per vehicle. Example: if you make 40 vehicles available on the market, the environmental contribution is 40 × DKK 300, that is DKK 12,000.

Vehicles in the red group carry a 20% surcharge, so the environmental contribution is DKK 360 per vehicle instead of DKK 300. The surcharge is set in the rules for eco-modulation of vehicles.

No. The de minimis threshold is a packaging rule. For vehicles every vehicle is reported, whatever the number.

Traction batteries in electric and hybrid cars fall under the batteries product area and have their own rate. If you are a producer in both product areas, you pay a membership per product area and still get one combined bill.
